FAQ

What is Duramax made of?

All Duramax fences are made of rigid Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) using a proprietary Duraresin formulation that is highly ultraviolet light (UV) stabilized, has 12 parts of TIO2 and high levels of impact modifiers. Similar high grade formulations have been used in vinyl windows which have a 20 year history of providing long term durability.

Will your product yellow?

No. Duramax uses a proprietary Duraresin formulation that is highly ultraviolet light (UV) stabilized with 12 parts of TIO2 and other UV stabilizers. All Duramax products come with a limited lifetime non-prorated warranty.

Do you offer dark colors?

The main ultraviolet inhibitor in our formulation is Titanium dioxide which is white.  With such a high amount of this white pigment, we cannot obtain a dark color.  Also, dark colors absorb a lot of heat which cannot be dissipated.

Why is the inside different than the outside?

All Duramax products use a state of the art co-extrusion process. This process allows for a higher concentration of UV protection in the outer layer, and a superior impact resistance in the inner substrate material. These layers will not separate.

Will it burn?

PVC is a self extinguishing material.  It will not ignite as it has a high flash point of 900°F.

Does it chalk?

Some chalking is normal with all pigmented surfaces. Chalking is washed away with rain and changes in weather.  This process helps to keep your fence looking new.

Does it have the strength to hold up?

Duramax uses a highly impact modified PVC which exceeds the requirements needed for performance in the field.

What is the warranty and what does it cover?

Duramax has a limited lifetime, non-prorated warranty. The product is warranted against discoloring, peeling or cracking.

What are the cleaning requirements?

Any non-abrasive liquid cleaning agent can be used to keep your fence looking like new. For stubborn stains, a stronger cleaning agent like Soft Scrub can be used.

Can I paint vinyl?

You should never have to paint your Duramax fence.  If painting is desired, any epoxy based paint that bonds to vinyl can be used but this would have to be repainted over time.  Painting voids the Duramax warranty.

Why is vinyl more expensive than wood?

It’s not.  While your upfront investment is more, the cost difference is quickly eliminated once the substantial cost of routine maintenance of wood or metal is considered. Duramax is the most economical solution to your fencing needs and it’s backed with our limited lifetime warranty.
