I bought this product two weeks ago and it's my worst Nightmare . Absolutely Horrible to erect Flimsily, unexplained parts and how to fit them. One of the worst things is trying to contact the suppliers who wait for it they are in America, emails not answered. Cut a long story short hope you don't have the same problems I've had. Horrible to erect Horrible. GOOD LUCK Ha Ha

Easy to install, as described, exactly what we wanted

Have to say this is a pretty awesome shed

I've just completed installation of my new SideMate shed. From the product description and reviews on Amazon the Duramax 8’ x 4’ SideMate shed appeared to be the perfect size to fit between the side of my house and my neighbour’s wall. I needed to know the package dimensions as I had to make space to store it for a few days but the dimensions are not given. The package measured 1880mm x 1010mm x 200mm and weighed 67kG Gross so it was a two-man lift. After completing the concrete base, I opened the box to find 2 sets of instructions, one for the door on the left, the other for the door on the right. Beware; both options are shown on the front sheet of each set of instructions with the non-applicable option greyed out. It would be better to only show the applicable option to keep it simple. I opted for the door at the left end. Everything was securely packed with no damaged or missing items. All parts are pretty well identified and where applicable an up arrow is indicated to show the top edge. The GRP side and roof panels are embossed with their part numbers, which are sometimes difficult to read but can be figured out. I checked off each item against the parts list (page 7) and arranged them on the ground such that I could easily identify each component for selection when required.

It took me most of the day to erect the shed. Fortunately, it was a very calm day so I managed to do the job on my own but it was tricky at times as the GRP panels are quite `wingy-wangy’ and will flop about, unless supported, until construction is completed so it is best to have an assistant who can also make a decent cuppa and fetch the biscuits. Once it’s fully assembled, the shed is quite sturdy. If you need to hang things up use shelving or a vertical plank of timber fixed to the floor and one end of the frame as I have for my power supplies. There were a few relatively minor issues; firstly, on page 21 when fitting the CB4S support bar you cannot use an S1 screw because it’s too long and would penetrate the GRP end panel. Fortunately, I had a very short self-tapping screw, which did the job. Secondly, I was a little confused by the instructions for erecting the right rear corner support CCRS1 indicated on page 26. The diagram shows the metal section COAS being removed from the support bar but I couldn’t remove it. It subsequently meant that I had to drill two holes into the COAS, from the external end, in order to fit the end panel FPLC (page 43). Thirdly, on page 31 section RS9B is shown being fixed with two S1 screws but only one screw can be used. Finally, you do need access to the outside of the corner supports in order to fix the securing screws at the bottom so if space is tight you need to consider this. After the shed was erected and before applying silicone around the bottom edges of the frame I found small pools of water from rain the previous evening, which was to be expected. I should also mention the supplied seal strip serves no purpose as it doesn't seal the hinged side of the door. Silicone doesn’t repel water forever so any wooden floor should be treated before laying it down. I used two sheets of 18mm thick shuttering plywood treated with a water-based quick drying wooden fence preservative, applying a couple of coats around the edges. You’ll never prevent water or moisture ingress underneath a shed so to aid ventilation and hopefully prevent damp in the timber, I drilled some 5mm diameter breather holes in the floor between each of the metal floor frame cross-pieces. I'm just waiting for some heavy rain to see how water-tight it is.

Loved everything about this, but as we got
to the door we ran into (literally) blockage. One of the hinge screws stopped halfway in. Instead of backing it out I gave it more juice.
Ruined the threads on the female end which I think may have been set out of alignment. So my door is hanging on three screws.

Contacting the company to get a new door or some fix.

This shed was not without a lot of screws and two days of togetherness with my poor unknowing neighbor but it is perfect for what I need it for - I like that you can change the doors - most of them go the opposite way - and that it is a durable heavy plastic type material so the termites can't eat thru it. Good buy!

I bought and installed a Sidemate 4x8 shed in 2004. It's foundation has rested on the ground next to a pine tree for 20 years. We decided to move the shed after we cut the pine tree down and the shed was still solid and moved easily without damage. After no maintenance in 20 years it was easily cleaned and looks great!

Perfect shed for my needs. I had it professionally put together and located where I needed it. The shed is very sturdy. We'll see how it holds up during hurricane season but I'm satisfied with it now.

My son & I put this together after reading the instructions & reviews and watching the various videos. The entire process took about (3) hours. We didn't run into any major issues. I used a lot of adhesive throughout the process & sprayed flex-seal where i could. From another review I ordered a 4' x 8' x 3/4" sheet of plywood and cut it to size (fit perfectly). All the holes matched-up and there is surprisingly a good amount of storage. It has already survived several heavy Florida rains and. so far. so good.

Shed is good. A little over expensive though . I think after covid the cost went up $300 more.

This product goes together easily. just follow the instructions. take your time. all are numbered. just make sure your placement has a level base. I built a treated 4x4 base for the metal grid would rest on. I put this under my deck. had to dig out a footer with gravel base.

I was able to build this by myself. Sure it would be easier with 2 people. Make sure you read all the directions first especially the on to set your screw gun to 4 or 5 and no higher. The only issue I had was that the inserts in the door came loose while screwing in the hinges. I even did these by hand. I had to request a replacement door. The new door came and although it appeared to be packaged well, it was cracked and now I"m waiting on another one. Overall I am happy with this shed.

This is my first self assembled shed and I went into it figuring it was going to be a nitemare. I must admit. with patience and READING ALL of the instructions/picture diaghrams. things went way better than I expected. Read the picture diaghrams. study them and take action with your drill with the screws. The shed came out great and really fit together better than I anticipated. I caulked all the seems and rivets on the roof and used 3/4" plywood as a base ontop of a raised gravel pad.

The shed itself is great. It fits all my needs. Instructions are not good. Very difficult to follow.

The directions were well written. If I had one piece of advise. pay close attention to where the holes are when putting it together. Looks great and should last.

The entire thing went together rather smoothly except for some of the vinyl panels not being stamped very clearly. It took me and my son about 5 hours (while also keeping up with college football!) Just make sure you familiarize yourself with all the parts and pieces separated out. My only complaint. the door just will not close with the hinges where the holes are pre-drilled. I've hit it with a level and everything. It's totally level top and bottom on the front and back. All in all though VERY impressed with this shed's sturdiness and ease of assembly.

Their is lost of pieces but one you get it all to gather it it an excellent shed.

Easy to assemble. Make sure you have a solid foundation that is larger than the shed dimensions. The foundation frame takes the most time. after that it becomes easier.

Easy to assemble. I hope you like jig saw puzzles. Directions are easy to follow but very detailed with great illustrations. Everything needed is included. Took me 2-1/2 full days by myself. You will need a second helper in certain stages. I used a lot of silicone caulking (Just To Be Sure). I installed the 2 included vents. Overall quality was very good. Panels are a little thin but well braced. I built it on 1 foot square concrete paver stones for a foundation. No foundation is included. I built this to replace a storage shed made out of metal.

I had to add my own metal loop bolts into the food frame because the food has a cheap. small plastic handle with a small hole for a lock. In an otherwise decent shed. that was a disappointment.

The shed is good.

Laid panels and parts in shaded yard and separated metal rails and bracing (most important 15 minutes of the 3 1/2 hour build. since every part is stamped or labeled). 15 minutes to assemble the base. 1 hour to put the front and side wall in. 45 minutes for the back. 45 for roof struts. 10 for the roof. 10 for the door. I was skeptical of the quality and flimsy walls until the bracing was installed. then the shed became very sturdy. Anticipate cleaning bottom rail and weep holes often.

Overall great product. very easy instructions and easy to put together. Can manage with one person if creative.

Placed on a concrete foundation for stability. Added additional concrete in flooring area instead of plywood. Worth the extra effort if you have the ability to do so. It's a roomy shed. but still doesn't have a huge footprint. Don't plan to move it - there's many. many. parts to the puzzle... All in all. it's doing what we need it to do.

The instructions could be a little clearer. but i figured it out. It took about 3 hours for my wife and I to get it assembled. I put a 3/4" plywood floor in it and pavers underneath.

It took me and a friend several hours to put the building together but it went fairly easy. The quality seems on par with the amount paid for the shed. I would have preferred it if it were in gray.

I was looking for a 5x9 shed for my area - I'm sure glad I couldn't find one! I used metal studs and stainless steal screws with a full sheet of plywood and drip edge roof flashing to cover the edges and used plenty of subfloor glue/calking to build a raised foundation and the shed fit perfectly on it. I cut down a sheet of foil-backed OSB to fit inside (foil down) as a subfloor and then cut cedar fence pickets to lay over top. It is sturdy. looks great. keeps the bugs at bay and smells amazing.

We needed another shed for storage and we didn’t want to build another wooden one so we went with this one due to its overall good reviews and simple design. Although I thought it was a little overpriced for a mostly vinyl shed. it built really well - all the parts were marked properly. we had extra hardware. and the instructions were clear. It took us one full weekend to level the ground and place concrete pavers down and then just one day (5-6 hours) to assemble the shed. Caulked the seams where suggested and everything looks nice and tight; the door closes nicely. too. We live in a high rain area and I’m confident it won’t leak. It fits two bicycles well and we’ll be putting in some shelving to maximize the space. Overall happy with the purchase and install.

Setup is easy and works great!

Great product and was able to get at a great price too easy to put together with clear instructions it does require several hours to put together with a lot of parts but if you take your time and pay close attention to the instructions the end result is great you will see reviews where people deviate from instructions specially on the floor recommendations my advice is to do it just like the manual recommends I only had 2 holes not line up and just drilled new holes not bad for all the steps involved everything else was on point

Overall the shed is good. however the instructions are very complicated to follow. They need to come up with a better manual. Also buyer has to spend more money on a base and that’s a downside because that’s extra money to spend. It would be nice if shed is sold with a a base that isn’t exposed to the ground.

Great extra space. Easy to put together.

Difficult to build in the beginning - definitely need at least 2 people. Holes do not line up properly and some of the bracing pieces for the inside walls were way too short and didn't even reach to where they were supposed to be. Also does not include a floor. only a metal frame that you build. You have to supply the 4x8 plywood for base (which is actually slightly less than 4x8 due to the inside diameter of the shed base. Do not attempt to build this on a windy day. Panels are thin and the structure will feel very flimsy at first while building it. but once the top braces are in place it starts to become more sturdy. You will also need a tube of silicone to seal the roof fasteners. Make sure you know which side you want the door on before you start building. The parts are all number/letter coded but with weird long codes and it can be confusing to find the right piece. Pieces are labeled and also stamped with their codes. Follow the instructions and it is doable. but will take a whole day to complete. Make sure your foundation is level before you start.

None of the holes for the screws lined up correctly. the part CBQ2 was too short and middle panel SPB1 did not meet the studs. Retraced my steps and could not find if i missed something. Had to return it.

A total nightmare to try to assemble. So far I have had two contractors look at all the pieces and the instruction manual and they both said "no way" it would take forever to put together. So. it is still sitting here unassembled. I paid a lot for it and it really looks cheap from what I can see. Not worth my time and effort to return it though.

The cross beam did not have the necessary holes for the roof fasteners and the visual guide did not show all the parts correctly.

I am pretty handy but it took me a while to build this as the directions were not that easy to follow. I should have watched a YouTube video on it first. That being. I probably can build it in 3 hours know that I have done this once.

Durasheds delivered and assembled it without a problem. It serves me for about a month already. So far so good. A bit concerned how it would withstand heavy storms and snow.

The shed was excellent and relatively easy to build. Their time to assemble was optimistic. My wife and I took about 9 hours to assemble it over 2 days. Its pretty easy to strip the holes for the screws. so I recommend using a driver only until the screw is in. then tighten by hand. Even the lowest setting on my clutch would tend to strip some of the screws. The pre-dilled holes aligned well. unlike other products I've assembled. so bravo on that! Overall. it is what it claims to be.

Would rather have screws on the roof instead of the plastic plugs. Even with a level installation there is still a gap in the door/door frame. Definitely install the vent or moisture builds on the inside of the building. Easy to follow instructions. Make sure you anchor it down if you don't have a foundation to screw it down to. Box mentioned foundation included which is deceiving... you have to build your own for the building to sit on. For the price. it's a good building and will be fine for our usage.

Perfect storage for a small space. Put together in a couple hours following a Heavy rain that night which kept everything dry. Will plan on putting clear caulk on each roof pin to keep from small drip. Other than that nice shed for the money.

Not sure if I got extremely lucky but I didn't have any problems with assembling this shed. All the parts were labeled clearly. I had all the parts and all of the holes lined pretty good. That was the shocker! Good screws. no issues with stripping the heads. Instructions were pretty easy to follow. maybe could've of used a little more words on a couple of steps but I didn't mi-sinstall any parts. I'm hoping this lasts a long time and I don't have any problems with water leaks but I did use the silicone where they said to apply it.

Instructions were complete easy to follow but it does take 2 people and several hours. I put mine on a concrete slab. 10 bags 80lb.

I was concerned about the assembly but as long as you follow the directions it is not a bad project. I was able to assemble by myself over two days working on it about four hours each day. The structure for a base was a seperate project that took a couple more hours. Once assembled it is very sturdy and water resistant. I am pleasantly sstisfied with its function and look.

Spacious inside while saving space outside- aesthetically pleasant to look at. we are very happy with our purchase. just what we were looking for as a storage space saver. we purchased a second Duramax.

Nice shed. quite strong. took us a bit longer than we expected but still managed to finish in 4.5 hours. When install the roof slop to the right. can only open to the left instead of right. It will be perfect for us if the door can install to open left or right. Overall. we are happy with the product

Unit was exactly what I needed and it was easy to install. I was able to follow the picture instructions without any problems. I did caulk around the roof pins from the inside to keep water for our Florida storms from coming in. Great product and I would recommend it to any one looking for a 4x8 shed.

You have to really pay attention to the pictures and orient it to your specific situation. Took a while to realize the two instruction books were not duplicates but two different instructions for location of the door. All in all turned out well giving me that extra storage space for a few bulky items.

Exactly what we needed. We’re in northern California so we don’t have to deal with snow (or that much rain. unfortunately). That being said this shed will meet our needs perfectly. I managed to build this shed in place despite my space being only slightly wider than the width of the shed... it’s definitely doable! And a HUGE shout out to Duramax for including EXTRA SCREWS and PLUGS. I dropped one of each into an unrecoverable area behind my new shed and thankfully didn’t have to try fishing them out with a trained chameleon-on-a-stick or similar.

For the amount of pets etc. the directions are very well written. I put 2 up back to back and went very well with very little issues. Would for sure buy again

Fairly easy to assemble due to simple instructions with pieces well marked. It looks great and is water proof with a little caulk.

When I bought it. I thought it's complete with everything. But it has no flooring included. I needed to buy it and when it rains the water goes down on the wall then stays down on the floor. We need to seal the gaps.

I just wrote a review and forgot one selling point. if you can I would like add it to my review. in the illustrations they show a motorcycle being stowed. as a former motorcyclist it would be great to have a drive thru. rather than dragging the bike back out..

Difficult to put it together. the most important part that I miss at the beginning .two deferent manuals one for the door on the right. one for the door on the left. Person on costumer service help me to realize about that . that person speak Spanish English fluently. Took me a while to put it together but I'm happy with it.

There are a million parts to this shed. but a careful reading of the instructions and it came together just fine. I would have put the tips about Anchoring the base and the wind-proofing at the beginning of the instructions instead of at the end however.

We had a rain shower the evening after my wife and I built it. No water leaks. You need two people minimum to build this shed. ,Some of the parts had missing part numbers. Others were not very legible. Therefore you need to rely on the instruction booklet and FOLLOW IT TO A "T"! Very Important! Otherwise if you try to skip or you do not Double Check your progress! mistakes will happen and it becomes Frustrating!,But the end result in my opinion looks very nice and appears to be durable. Has a 15 yr warranty. Time will tell.

It went together very well. its up and its good and has already survived its first tropical storm. so my snowblower and bike are safe inside.

I wouldn't buy it again. The price is pretty steep for what it is but it's the only one I could find in this range with these dimensions. Really wish they made the inside floor measurements so you could drop a full 4x8 sheet instead of having to cutting it up.

Quality shed. just make sure you follow the instructions and take your time and all well turn out fine.

The shed construction instructions are not always as clear as they should be. It is key to spend some time reviewing the instructions and laying out the parts in some sort of order prior to commencing. This is definitely a 2 person job especially at the early stages of putting up the walls. Allow for at least 6 hours to complete.

Putting the shed together was real easy

Took about seven hours and three people to put this together. Then had to go back and buy wood for the floor. Other than that. I hope this holds up

This is a great shed. a lot of parts to put together and you might even think it is very sturdy while you are putting it together. But... It is very sturdy and easy to move into place once it is completed. I used a 4x8 1/4" plywood for the base. and I will use 4 individual 3/4" plywood for between the floor supports. You can do without these 4 individual plywood pieces. but I like it to have a flat floor so to speak. It will take you around 5-6 hours to put this together. we only did like 2 things wrong and had to reverse it. I think this happens with all big projects like this. the instructions are not as clear as you would like them to be. Overall though. very good instructions. just take your time and follow them. especially when not to put in a screw where you're supposed to wait.

For those who gave a 1 star because. "...too many parts and too hard to build". Seriously!? If you are not a DIYer. then you shouldn't have bothered to order it. The instructions are VERY clear and precise. It shows an exploded view of what to do on every single page. You only need an extra person to get the walls installed. after that it can easily be a one-person completion. They provide ample hardware. so don't worry about losing a screw here or there. Highly recommend a cordless drill and set it on low torque. I am actually pondering getting a 3rd one. You just can't have enough storage! Go slow. take breaks if in the heat (I'm in Texas) and you will be extremely happy with your finished product.

Be careful. Screws strip out easily. Overall I really like this shed. Easy to assemble. I wish it had a few more CROSS braces. And I would have liked to move door to the right side of shed.

Follow the instructions and you'd have your shed up in no time. only issue is there is no flooring. we had to cut boards to fit the open spaces between the metal bars to close off the open flooring. Shed is roomy and fits a lot of our junk. but have to be careful on how to situate things inside and not lean heavy stuff on the walls because walls are not he best quality and she could tip over. But lots of room for regular items. i.e. toys. winter clothing. sports equipment. etc.

It’s ok lots of pieces not the most clear instructions had to take apart and do over certain parts because of that not perfect fitting pieces. It does fit my needs having a side door due to my limited space I believe once this rusts out which I’m sure it will I’ll just be building it out of wood

It takes about 3 days - 3 hrs a day to put it together. it has like a 1000 screws but it is possible to do it with alone as the pieces are very light. to the point that makes you wonder if it will be strong enough. but when the last retainer is installed the structure its really strong!

We picked the shed for the price. the dimensions. and the fact that the door was on the long side because it worked much better with where we wanted it (see photos). The price was a huge draw since this was essentially a shed for garage storage overflow. The directions were super easy to follow (pretty much pictures as other reviewers have said). The hardest part for us was leveling the ground before building the shed. We used 1' x 1' paving stones on top of hard-packed sand. then drilled the steel frame foundation into the paving stones with concrete screws. The directions only suggest plywood or concrete as a floor on top of the foundation. but we went with 2" thick 6' x 8' cedar planks. They're a little more pricey but smell and look wonderful. are super rot resistant. and I just needed to cut a few inches from the length. I then screwed them onto the steel foundation. The only cons of this shed are related to security. The bracket on the door and the frame for the padlock are made of thick plastic. and I would imagine it would be super easy to break the plastic or cut through it instead of dealing with the actual padlock. The wall and roof panels are also very thin. so those would be really easy to cut through as well. If you're not putting particularly valuable things in there or if you have the shed in your backyard. that's less of a concern I'm sure. Overall. we're very happy with this shed. For the price. ease of assembly. and look. I think we picked the best one!

Shed was easy to build with wife’s help. Plenty of outside storage in small footprint. The only negatives are having to duck to get in. and no predrilled guides to mount any hanging units/accessories to make the most of it. Otherwise. this is a great vinyl shed for the price and blends in perfectly with the siding of my house.

Shed worked out good. Only a little dent on the inside of the door due to the box was all busted up but the rest was ok. Put it together myself in a couple hours. Decided to move it to a different location than originally intended so I flipped the door to the other side which was a little tricky because a bunch of parts needed to be moved but it worked out ok. Only con was I wish it came with a floor and not just the frame for the floor. Had to solve for that separately. Overall nice little shed for the cost. Would recommend it to other people.

Opened the box and everything was packaged well. I was a little worried when I saw how thick the manual was but the instructions were very detailed and the parts were labeled well. I was able to assemble the shed in 6 hours with no problems. I would suggest using an electric screw gun instead of a screw driver. lots of screws. Overall the shed was exactly what was described.

Spacious. sturdy. and practical. I was able to fit 3 bikes. folding tables. and folding chairs in there. It turned an unused section of yard space to a very useful storage space.

This product was extremely easy to assemble. I have zero experience in construction but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It fit exactly where I needed it to and holds our mountain bikes and other miscellaneous items perfectly.

Closer to a 4.5 overall rating. There were a couple of items that could be improved. Overall very good kit. was what I expected. I have put a number of sheds/storage units kits together so was expecting a lot of parts - which there is. It took my adult son and I about 4.5 hrs to assemble. Be warned there are very few words in the assembly instructions. it's 95% pictures so you have to figure out what some of the pictures are showing you (there are a LOT of pictures). Most of it is pretty obvious but some take looking at instructions then the parts. All parts were pretty well labeled (some of the stamps weren't super clear but you could figure it out). The two (2) biggest issues:,,1. Got to the step to put on roof panels and didn't have caulk to seal snap-in clips (not included but recommend) - we had pre-read the instructions but not close enough. We had to make a store run. We used clear silicone caulk. after drying you cant even see it.,2. There are several holes exposed on backside after you finish assembly. This is due to having the option for right or left side door. I did not like having all the holes - just a place for water to get into the frame. We filled most with extra screws from kit (there are extras of most screws/clips) and some from my "box of parts". There two (2) larger holes that we used extra snap-in roof clips (as I said there are extras of most screws/clips) with caulk to seal. This sealed all holes and gave it a very finished look. Once finished we moved into place and put in plywood floor (this was clearly called out as not-included) and locked and we were finished. I would recommend this kit. it looks nice and worked great for our bikes !

Excellent value! Fairly sturdy and simple to put together…although a bit time consuming. I’m a 57-year old woman and was able to assemble it on my own in about 7-8 hours. I am expecting to cut that time to about 5 hours on the second shed. Machining is pretty accurate…very few adjustments needed.

Assemble the bottom rails. Now skip fwd about 4 pages and assemble and set the top rails inside on the floor. If there is any wind. the sides will flop around while you are hunting for the top rails. All my parts were labeled correctly and fit where the instructions said they schould.

This shed is a good value I believe. Made it through two rain storms so far and no leaks but I used a lot of caulk.... like a lot of caulk. everywhere. I put it together by myself and had no issues over the course of a day. There were some ambiguous directions since there are no words so I suggest moving slowly. I put the shed on a wood base then made a floor between the metal frame. I am disappointed in the door lock and will be upgrading that and I did have to add more screws and caulk to secure it from the elements but am satisfied.

The assembly is fairly straightforward. Only issue was the overlapping edges of the roof are basically the same size. which do not allow them to lay flat against each other. This made it difficult to catch and secure those rivets. Otherwise a decent shed.

Installing the screws in steps 45 and 46 is impossible without a right angle screwdriver.

I put a composite decking floor in mine and am happy with the way it came out.

I do not have the stamina to work on this shed straight through. especially in humid. hot weather. It took me in total about 6 hours over 3 days to complete. The base was one day. walls were second day and roof/door were third day. The product is a huge puzzle. The parts are well labeled and as long as you follow instructions to the "T." you should be able to put this together quite easily. The only situations I found to cause an issue is that you really need to look at the illustrations to verify where the holes are on pieces to confirm you are attaching them properly. Without really paying attention. you could install something you think is correct. then 2 to 15 steps down the road find that you put the part together incorrectly. You should have a second person help you with at least the wall portion of the build.,So if you have the patience. can read directions and love puzzles. then this product is for you! It is durable and comes with a 15 year warranty. Great product!

The number item I think of when I rate an item is value. Good/great product at a good/great price. This product hit both marks for me. For me I wanted a product that would last 20-30 yrs (or longer) that didn't require much maintenance. I already have a sidemate for 10 yrs and still looks/works like a charm. I got a 2nd one to go alongside.

The box came with 2 instructions; left or right door set up. I had no missing or damaged part issues. everything was fine. I took me 1 day to assembly the shed. would have gone faster if I had help. Fairly straight forward installation I would recommend that you have s calm day for setting up in a non windy location because until you have a couple walls up it us pretty flimsy and would easily move in wind. Once all assembled it a great shed. Served our purpose which was a pool shed.

Just perfect for what we needed..

This product works well once we got it assembled. My crew of two worked on this for probably a total of 12-14 man hours. and these men pretty much know what they are doing. The instructions were mostly accurate. and only a couple of screw holes did not line up properly. I have no complaint about the product itself. I like the fact that it won't rot and never needs painting. The problem is the time it took to assemble it. We made a mistake not to construct a carpenter-built shed. in probably 1/3 to 1/2 the time. at half the cost.

First. there are A LOT of parts. Kinda intimidating at first. Once I got into the flow. all went pretty smoothly. The build time was estimated at about 4 hours for 2 people (I think). It took me 5 hours and 20 minutes by myself.

A little bit of a pain to put together but I did it by myself without help.

Easy to assemble just have someone help you to hold up the walls while doing it . I bought it for my new sportster. It’s a tight fit but it’s perfect for keeping it out of sight and the weather. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Easy assembly

I bought my Sidemate November 2018 and promptly erected it. I built it on a paver patio, next to my house and blends in nicely. The size is perfect to fit a small shelf for garden materials along with enough space for two bikes and a lawn mower. It is February 2019 and shed has almost made it through its first Minnesota winter - the shed has stayed dry and tight!! Over the last 5 years I have built sheds from Keter, Rubbermaid, and Lifetime. Hands down the Sidemate was the easiest to assemble - instructions were clear and components went together with ease. I would recommend this shed for anyone looking for something that will blend in nicely next to a house or larger structure.

The size is perfect if you dont have a big yard and looks good no an eye sore

I puchased this shed on Craig's List for an absurdly low price - the catch was I had to disassemble and re-assemble it myself. Which I did, all by myself.

The hardest part of disassembling it was getting the plastic pop-rivets off the roof without breaking them (the trick is to lever a thin screwdriver under the central pin and push that out, then the rest of the rivet comes out easily). I made sure to put small parts in separate ziplock bags at each stage of the disassembly and write notes on the outside of the ziplock bag about what went where and in what order.

The hardest part of re-assembly was trying to follow the printed instructions instead of simply reversing my own steps from taking it apart. The printed instructions have you start at a low corner at the door end of the shed, which leaves an unsupported panel flopping in the wind while you are trying to read the next instruction. After that fell down and I undid the crimp that that put in the metal track along the floor, I went back to my own instructions and started at the sheltered, non-door end, applied the bracing, and then did the two long sides in parallel, attaching the bracing as I went along. If you are assembling from scratch, I highly recommend pre-assembling certain assemblies, such as putting the plastic endpieces on the metal pillars and putting together segments of bracing the length of the wall that they go on, as long as you make sure to connect them up correctly (there are a couple of pieces that look very similar, but are specialized for either the low or high side of the shed).

The shed I bought on Craig's List had a crack in one panel (that the seller had taped with duct tape and didn't disclose, and I didn't notice until I got it home). I don't know how the panel got cracked - it looks like maybe someone drove a fork lift or a pickup truck over it, as there are some scuff marks present. Duramax sells replacement panels, but I elected instead to repair the crack using a specialty vinyl repair tape (Repair-Aid type B) inside and out. So far, it's holding up well. Duramax does not recommend using repair tape, they recommend using silicone sealant.

The shed is a really good shape and size for us, I really like the asymmetrical "shed"-style roof, which allowed me to put it right up against the house. It came with a floor system and a flimsy metal "foundation" to go under the plywood. That all fit together nicely. I assume the seller bought the plywood, but I don't know for sure. I didn't want to have to do a lot of work digging up our yard to get everything flat and level, so I bought three large plastic shipping pallets off of Craig's List and zip-tied them together, then put the shed's foundation system on top of that. The pallets are sufficiently rigid, plus they drain well when it rains, so I don't end up with the shed sitting in a puddle.

Speaking of rain, we've had a lot of it lately, and the shed is dry as a bone inside. I did put a dollop of sealant on each of the pop-rivets in the roof, which allowed me to re-use those rivits without fear of leaks.

All in all, a great shed!

Very precise directions every part labeled. very good quality. People that give bad reviews are those that cannot read and follow directions. It takes 2 people minimum to put this shed together. Prepare. read all directions first and this is a piece of cake. It takes about 6 hours or so to erect.

Take your time while putting it together. The instructions were pretty clear and I'm not handy at all. The hardest thing was getting a level foundation and that isn't part of the kit. There are a lot of pieces but they are all very well marked. If you can do your kids Legos you can do this. It took me doing it alone a few partial days but I went slow. Wind would be a problem.

Instructions are okay (no step by step choice for right door or left door until it's too late). no way of knowing what to build first. hard to identify peices due to the lack of labeling and faint impressions. holes for screws wasn't lined up correctly to keep things level (had to drill my own holes). Wish I could get my money back or at least a partial refund for the extra work I needed to put in to build it level. It's an ok shed once you tweak it a bit. but would not recommend it due to the horrible instructions. bad labeling. and improper placement of screw holes not matching up. After all the hard work I put in to build it I have no choice but to keep it. I can't return it now knowing that I already built it.

The key to successfully assembling this shed is to carefully read through the instructions at least once. Otherwise you'll mis-identify similar-looking parts. and this kit has a lot of those. I found that many of the paper tags on my parts had fallen off in the box. but then discovered -- through examining the parts while reviewing the instructions -- that the part numbers are faintly stamped into the metal. This wasn't mentioned in the instructions. and I wouldn't have noticed it until I had possibly mis-identified and incorrectly assembled several parts. That was the only way I could tell some parts apart. A second essential requirement is to have a good foundation prepared in advance. If you have a level concrete pad. you're good to go. I didn't. and the instructions have no guidance for building a wood foundation other than the overall size. I purchased some 2x6 boards and. following some generic foundation-building videos on YouTube. built a level foundation using paving stones on gravel (for drainage) to support the four corners. This took half a day. and is time you should expect to spend if you don't have a foundation. You cannot build this shed directly on the ground. as it's not firm enough. and rain will wash it away.,The remaining assembly spanned about 12 hours with two people. A lot of that time we spent holding pieces in alignment. which is necessary until you have all four walls erected. Until then. the structure is very flimsy and impossible for one person to put together. Make sure you don't work on a windy or wet day. as the large flat panels can become slippery and airborne quite easily.,One thing that wasn't clear to me at first is that the foundation needs to be a totally solid surface under the entire shed. The instructions only mention this in passing. and it's an easy requirement to miss. or confuse with the separate interior floor. which is also plywood. The totally flat foundation is necessary because the shed framework itself can't span any open space -- it must be supported continuously everywhere. So I used a 3/4" sheet of exterior plywood as the foundation floor. without any trimming. which you should take care to ensure is supported in the middle with cross-bracing of some kind. I cut the 4x8 sheet in half for easier handling. I screwed this flooring into the underlying wood frame (with cross-beam supports holding up the middle) using about twenty-four 2" deck screws. On top of this flat flooring goes the kit's metal "foundation" frame. and it is on top of this frame that you must at the end install a second sheet of plywood as the interior floor. So the shed is on top of a flat flooring of either cement or wood. and then an interior floor raised up about an inch. which has to be precisely trimmed to the inside dimensions ( which you'll measure after assembly. as it varies slightly depending on your assembly skills). Mine ended up being 45" X 90”. Note that the assembly instructions for this model shed have changed several times over the years. so use the book that came with your shed. Instructions I found online differed markedly from what I received. even though the manufacturer and the shed model number were the same. In particular. at one point in history to the metal foundation frame was apparently a separate $100 kit. which now is shipped inside the current kit at no additional charge.,,I gave this product four stars instead of five because of the unclear instructions about the need for a solid foundation. and because for the price I'd have expected that to be included. especially the interior floor.

Extremely satisfied. Well made product .Fairly easy assembly with 2 people . Some suggestions:,1. Assemble the roof rails (sort and piece together) before installing the walls. This will make the final steps go much smoother. ,2. 3/4" plywood cut to size will fill in the floor rails evenly and makes for a nice finish. See pic below.

It took three hours for two people to assemble the shed. but the finished product is good so far...

Works great would def buy again. Easy to put together. Took about 3 hrs solid one person reading directions the other actually building.

A nice shed for small spaces. I put this shed up behind my garage and use it for a garden cart. garden tools. soil. rocks. a.s.o . It is of good quality and has a floor frame. You do however have to make the floor. I used pressed wood and stained it to weather proof. I'll follow up with a photo.

This shed fit perfectly in the space that I had on the side of my house and the fact that you can locate the door on either side made it even better. I have put together many sheds and built a few from scratch. This shed went together in about 3.5 hours. I had a friend help me and made sure to read the directions carefully. One suggestion is to build the roof components first. As you put the walls together the structure is very weak. If there is any wind the sides of the shed will be tough to keep in place. So if you build the roof components first. you can immediately start assembling the roof onto the walls which makes the structure sound. Also. make sure you install the plywood floor on top of the included metal skeleton base before installing the walls. This shed is a good product for the money. One thing to keep in mind is once this shed is built I do not think it would be moved to a new house very easily. More expensive sheds have larger panels and snap together. This uses sheet metal screws into very lightweight metal which won't tighten as well the second time around.

This is a nice little shed, but it is light duty. Will be great for keeping tools dry, but hanging items on walls is iffy. You will need two people to construct it; one holds the walls up while another is fastening screws. Took 2 of us about 5 hours to complete. I set mine on a border of masonry steppers and it seems fine that way.

I am just an average person with average skills and knowledge on using tools. I have never assembled a shed before and this project took me about 6 hours to complete by myself. Assembly will be much quicker and easier if you can obtain additional help

Tip #1. Before staring the assembly, organize the pieces . There are many pieces to this kit and organizing and being familiar with the pieces will help . Have painters tape and a marker to help mark some of the parts.

Tip#2. Instructions for assembly consist of a booklet with step by step illustrations. Be patient and match parts exactly as shown in the illustrations. Check and double check part numbers which will be on an attached tape or stamped into the part itself.

Tip #3. A cordless drill / driver is a must and will make assembly a lot easier. Be sure to have at least two fully charged batteries as there are a lot of screws to drive.

Tip#4. All screws are Philips head so be sure you have good, proper sized Philips head drivers and screw drivers.

Tip #5. Whether you are assembling by yourself or with others, have ladders, saw horses or similar items to help assist with propping up the walls during assembly. The walls tend to be quite weak and wobbly during the initial stages of assembly due to lack of frame support. Without support, the walls will bend over and possibly cause damage to the frame. Windy weather also amplify this condition.

This project was very satisfying when completed. The shed is beautiful, functional and well worth the money. Read Less

The bicycles. lawn mower and yard tools fit nicely. However must remember to duck under door or you hit your head.

Took two of us 8 hours to out it together. Too many screws and instructions sometimes not clear. As said in another review put everything out properly before starting. ,,we had concrete floor. Add the plywood after all assembled on the concrete floor. ,,Also do buy the plywood (from home depot) and have it cut to The exact inside dimensions that the plywood needs to be cut at is 45 5/8" (1158mm) Wide by 92 1/4" (2434mm) Depth.,,Or you could hire folks to do the job.,,But once completed looks good. will update the review after rainy season. And the price was good. Also not too many sheds 4'x8'.

Approx 4 m.m. out of true and had to be carefully burred out for PPG's to fit nicely. Rest. great.

It's not so tall that it shows over the fence yet (after we built some shelves for it) holds a considerable amount of stuff. The directions were pretty straight forward although we did manage to mess up once. After retracing our steps however. we figured out where we went wrong. Really a two person job with one possessing a little "know how"... :)

I built a foundation out of pressure treated 2x4s and 3\4" pressure treated plywood and made sure it was level. I made sure my u-channel base was square and measured right. After that it was just a matter of assembling the hundred or so pieces using the several hundred fasteners. Take the time to really study the directions. Now that it is finished (4-5 hours), it seems really sturdy and should be very waterproof.

This shed is nice and will store the wife's extra junk nicely. The instructions however are horrible. Had to back track a couple times because they were unclear as what to do. A helper is a must. Would be even more of a pain without one. like others said organize the parts first that would have helped us a lot.

Good shed but it is a pain to put it together. You have to cut the plywood for the floor. A standard 4x8 sheet of plywood does not fit.Do not try to put this together on your own!

Everything we wished for. I only wish I had more room and could have two!
